1. About these Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of LFA Master, including its website, account system, Low Flying Area information, activity reports, confirmations, notifications, contribution features, achievements, leaderboards and related services.

By creating an account or using LFA Master, you agree to these Terms and the Community Rules. If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is processed and forms part of the information provided to users about the service.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must keep relevant account information reasonably up to date.

You are responsible for protecting your password and for activity carried out through your account. Do not knowingly allow another person to use your account or share your password.

You must not create an account using false information or for the purpose of impersonating another person or organisation.

You must not use LFA Master where doing so would be unlawful. Where LFA Master applies a specific minimum-age requirement, you must meet that requirement before creating an account.

3. Using LFA Master

LFA Master is designed to provide information and community tools for aviation spotters, including community reporting of low-flying activity.

You agree to use the service lawfully, responsibly and in accordance with these Terms and the Community Rules.

You must not use LFA Master to:

• submit deliberately false or fabricated reports;
• create fake or coordinated confirmations;
• manipulate contribution totals, levels, badges, achievements, leaderboard positions, activity or engagement counts;
• deliberately submit activity solely for the purpose of obtaining contributions, levels, badges or achievements without genuine participation;
• impersonate another person or LFA Master staff;
• harass, threaten or abuse another person;
• publish another person's private information improperly;
• attempt to access accounts, systems or information without authorisation;
• use scripts, bots or automation to abuse or disrupt the service;
• interfere with aircraft, airfields, personnel or aviation operations; or
• use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, malicious or harmful purposes.

4. Activity Reports and Confirmations

Activity reports submitted to LFA Master are community reports. They may be incomplete, delayed, incorrect or based on information that has not been independently verified by LFA Master.

Activity may be displayed as potential activity before being confirmed by another community member.

A confirmed activity report indicates that another community member has confirmed the activity. It does not mean that LFA Master has independently verified the aircraft, location, callsign, route, source or any other detail.

You remain responsible for the information you submit and must act honestly and reasonably when reporting or confirming activity.

5. Sources and Community Information

LFA Master may allow activity to identify sources including visual observation, scanner information, ADS-B information, social media or other sources.

Identifying a source does not guarantee that the information derived from that source is accurate or current.

Information shown by LFA Master may change without notice and may be delayed, incomplete, incorrect, unavailable or superseded.

6. Low Flying Area Information

LFA Master may provide information about UK Low Flying Areas, including locations, aircraft types, associated bases, frequencies, operating information, spotting information and other related material.

This information is provided for general information and spotting purposes. It is not a substitute for official operational, navigational, legal, safety or regulatory information.

You are responsible for checking appropriate official and current sources wherever accurate or operationally significant information is required.

7. Notifications

LFA Master may provide browser push notifications and other alerts based on your preferences, favourite LFAs and available activity.

Notifications depend on your browser, device, internet connection, permissions and the operation of LFA Master and relevant third-party infrastructure.

LFA Master does not guarantee that every notification will be delivered, arrive immediately or contain complete information.

Notifications must not be relied upon for safety-critical, operational or emergency purposes.

8. Contributions, Levels, Badges and Leaderboards

LFA Master may provide community features that recognise user participation through contributions, levels, badges and achievements.

Contributions may be earned through qualifying activity on LFA Master, including activities such as reporting sightings and confirming sightings using the available community features.

Levels, badges and achievements may be awarded automatically when activity meets the criteria defined by LFA Master.

Contribution totals, levels, badges and achievements are provided as community recognition features. They do not represent monetary value, ownership, credits, payment or any other form of financial entitlement.

LFA Master may change the criteria used to calculate contributions or award levels, badges and achievements as the service develops.

LFA Master may correct, remove or recalculate contributions, levels, badges or achievements where activity was recorded in error, resulted from abuse, was obtained through manipulation or no longer meets the applicable criteria.

Where LFA Master provides a leaderboard, users may be given a setting allowing them to choose whether their account appears on the leaderboard.

Where you choose to appear on a leaderboard, information such as your display name, contribution total, level, badges or achievements may be displayed to other LFA Master users as part of that feature.

Choosing not to appear on the leaderboard does not prevent LFA Master from recording or processing qualifying activity where that information is required to operate your account, maintain community records, calculate account features, moderate the service or comply with applicable requirements.

LFA Master does not guarantee that contribution totals, leaderboard positions, levels, badges or achievements will remain unchanged. They may change when activity is corrected, criteria are updated, records are moderated or the service is changed.

9. User Content

You remain responsible for content you submit to LFA Master, including sightings, confirmations, notes, profile information and other user-generated material.

You must have the necessary rights to submit content and must not submit material that unlawfully infringes another person's rights.

You retain ownership of content you create and submit. By submitting content, you grant LFA Master a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and otherwise process that content to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, secure, moderate and improve LFA Master and provide its community features.

This licence does not transfer ownership of your content to LFA Master.

LFA Master may remove, hide, edit or restrict content where reasonably necessary to operate the service, enforce these Terms or address misuse.

10. Moderation and Restrictions

LFA Master may review reports, confirmations, contribution activity, leaderboard activity and other account activity for moderation, security, service integrity and enforcement purposes.

LFA Master may restrict, suspend or terminate accounts and may remove or restrict content where there are reasonable grounds to believe that these Terms or the Community Rules have been breached, the service is being misused or action is necessary to protect users, personal information or service security.

Where contribution activity, levels, badges, achievements or leaderboard participation have been affected by prohibited activity, LFA Master may remove or correct the affected contribution records or achievements in addition to taking other appropriate action.

Action may be taken without prior warning where immediate action is reasonably necessary.

11. Service Availability

LFA Master is an online service and uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

The service may be unavailable or limited because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, network failures, hosting problems, security incidents, third-party failures or circumstances outside reasonable control.

Features may be added, changed, suspended or removed as the service develops.

12. Accuracy and Reliance

LFA Master does not guarantee that information displayed through the service will always be accurate, complete, current or suitable for a particular purpose.

This includes community sightings, confirmations, notifications, source information, LFA information, operating information and other user or platform content.

You should use your own judgement and verify important information using appropriate authoritative sources.

LFA Master must not be used as the sole source of information for flight planning, aviation operations, emergency decisions, safety decisions or legal or regulatory compliance.

13. Responsible Spotting

LFA Master does not authorise trespass, entry into restricted areas, interference with aviation operations or any other unlawful or dangerous conduct.

You are responsible for complying with laws, site rules, access restrictions and other applicable requirements when using information provided by LFA Master.

14. Third-Party Services

LFA Master may rely on third-party providers for hosting, databases, infrastructure, authentication, push notifications, email or other technical services.

LFA Master is not responsible for interruptions caused by third-party services outside its reasonable control.

15. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the LFA Master name, branding, website design, software, original text, graphics and other materials supplied by LFA Master are owned by or licensed to LFA Master.

You may use the service for its intended purpose. You must not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, commercially exploit or reverse engineer LFA Master's protected materials except where permitted by law or with appropriate permission.

16. Account Closure

You may stop using LFA Master at any time.

Where the service provides an account deletion or closure mechanism, you may use that mechanism to request closure of your account.

LFA Master may suspend or terminate an account where permitted by law, including for serious or repeated breaches, misuse, security risks or other circumstances that make continued access inappropriate.

Account closure does not automatically require deletion of information that LFA Master is required or permitted to retain for legal, security, moderation, dispute-resolution or legitimate operational purposes.

17. Changes to the Service and Terms

LFA Master may update these Terms when the service changes, new features are introduced or legal or operational requirements change.

The latest version will be published on this page with its update date. Where a change is significant, LFA Master may provide additional notice where appropriate or legally required.

Changes will not remove rights that cannot lawfully be removed.

18. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to that limitation, LFA Master is not responsible for loss arising solely from your reliance on community-generated, delayed, incomplete, unavailable or inaccurate information, including activity reports, confirmations, notifications or LFA information.

Nothing in this section affects statutory rights or protections that apply to you under applicable law.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory applicable law requires otherwise.

Disputes concerning these Terms or use of LFA Master will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the greatest extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
