Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 August 2026
1. About these Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of LFA Master, including the LFA Master website, account system, activity reports, notifications, Low Flying Area information and related features.
By creating an account or using LFA Master, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not create an account or use the service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You are responsible for providing accurate information when creating your account and for keeping your account information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and for activity carried out through your account. Do not share your password or deliberately allow another person to use your account.
You must not create an account using information that is false, misleading or intended to impersonate another person.
You must comply with any age requirements that apply to the use of online services in your circumstances and must not use LFA Master where doing so would be unlawful.
3. Using LFA Master
LFA Master is intended to provide information and tools for aviation spotters, including community reporting of low-flying activity.
You agree to use the service responsibly and only for lawful purposes.
You must not use LFA Master to:
- submit deliberately false, fabricated or misleading sightings;
- repeatedly submit duplicate reports in order to manipulate activity or notifications;
- falsely confirm another user's sighting;
- attempt to impersonate another user or LFA Master administrator;
- interfere with the operation, security or availability of the service;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems, databases or administrative functions;
- use automated systems, scripts or other means to abuse or overload the service; or
- use the service for any unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, abusive or harmful purpose.
4. Sightings and community reports
Sightings submitted to LFA Master are community reports. They are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete or independently verified.
A sighting may initially appear as potential activity and may later become confirmed when another user independently confirms the report.
A confirmed status means that another community member has independently confirmed the sighting. It does not mean that LFA Master has independently verified the aircraft, location, callsign, source, route or any other detail.
You are responsible for ensuring that information you submit is truthful to the best of your knowledge and based on what you actually observed or reasonably identified.
5. Sources and activity information
LFA Master may allow users to identify sources for activity reports, including visual observation, scanner traffic, ADS-B data, social media or other sources.
Source information is provided for context and should not automatically be treated as proof that a report is accurate.
Information displayed by LFA Master may be delayed, incomplete, incorrect, unavailable or changed without notice.
6. Low Flying Area information
LFA Master may provide information about UK Low Flying Areas, including locations, coordinates, aircraft types, bases, frequencies, operational hours, spotting information and other related information.
This information is provided for general informational and spotting purposes. It should not be treated as an authoritative operational, navigational, aviation safety or legal source.
You are responsible for checking appropriate official and current sources where accurate, current or operationally significant information is required.
7. Notifications
LFA Master may provide browser push notifications and other alerts based on your account preferences, favourite LFAs and available activity.
Notifications depend on your device, browser, internet connection, notification permissions and the availability of the relevant LFA Master services. Notifications may sometimes be delayed, missed or unavailable.
You can manage supported notification preferences through your account settings and may also control notification permissions through your device or browser.
8. User content
When you submit a sighting, confirmation or other content to LFA Master, you remain responsible for that content.
By submitting content, you give LFA Master permission to store, process, display and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and improve the service and provide its community features.
You must not submit content that you do not have the right to submit or that infringes another person's rights.
LFA Master may remove, hide, reject, edit or restrict access to content where reasonably necessary to maintain the service, enforce these Terms or address misuse.
9. Moderation and account restrictions
LFA Master may review activity reports and other user activity to help maintain the quality and reliability of the platform.
Accounts or content may be restricted, suspended, hidden or removed where there are reasonable grounds to believe that these Terms have been breached, the service is being abused, or action is necessary to protect users, the service or its security.
Where appropriate, LFA Master may also remove individual sightings without suspending the associated account.
10. Availability of the service
LFA Master is provided as an online service and availability may vary.
The service may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical problems, hosting issues, network failures, security incidents or circumstances outside reasonable control.
Features may be added, changed, suspended or removed as LFA Master develops.
11. Accuracy and reliance on information
LFA Master does not guarantee that information displayed by the platform is always accurate, complete, current or suitable for your particular purpose.
You should use your own judgement and, where appropriate, verify important information using authoritative sources.
In particular, LFA Master should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for aviation operations, flight planning, safety decisions, emergency decisions or compliance with legal or operational requirements.
12. Third-party services
LFA Master may rely on third-party services and infrastructure, such as hosting providers, databases, authentication systems, notification services and other technical providers.
LFA Master is not responsible for interruptions or failures caused by third-party services outside its reasonable control.
13. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with LFA Master's applicable privacy information.
Our privacy information explains how personal data is collected and used and should be read alongside these Terms of Use.
14. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the LFA Master name, branding, website design, software, original text, graphics and other materials provided by LFA Master are owned by or licensed to LFA Master.
You may use LFA Master for its intended purpose, but you must not copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, modify, reverse engineer or commercially exploit LFA Master's software, branding or other protected materials without appropriate permission.
15. Respecting other users
LFA Master is a community platform. You must treat other users respectfully and must not use the service to harass, threaten, abuse, intimidate or deliberately target another person.
Attempts to manipulate community confirmation, deliberately misrepresent activity or disrupt another user's use of the service may result in moderation action.
16. Account closure
You may stop using LFA Master at any time.
LFA Master may suspend or terminate an account where permitted by applicable law, including where an account is used in breach of these Terms or in a way that creates a risk to the service or other users.
Account closure does not automatically remove information that LFA Master is required or permitted to retain for legitimate operational, security, legal or record-keeping purposes.
17. Changes to these Terms
LFA Master may update these Terms from time to time, for example when the service changes or new features are introduced.
The latest version will be made available on this page. Where changes are significant, LFA Master may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of LFA Master after updated Terms take effect means that you accept the revised Terms, subject to your legal rights.
18. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
To the extent permitted by law, LFA Master is not responsible for losses arising solely from your reliance on inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or unavailable community information, including activity reports, notifications, LFA information or operational information.
This section does not affect rights or protections that you have under applicable law.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or use of LFA Master will be subject to the applicable courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.
20. Contact
If you have a question about these Terms or the operation of LFA Master, please use the available contact method provided by LFA Master.
These Terms of Use are intended to provide clear rules for using LFA Master. They are not a substitute for independent legal advice.
